Hello fellow fashion enthusiasts! I am currently shopping for a dress online and I noticed that one of the dresses is made of crepe fabric. As I have never worn or felt crepe before, I was wondering if anyone could help me understand the texture and feel of the fabric. Is it similar to cotton or is it completely different? I want to make sure that I am comfortable in the dress before I make a purchase. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi! I just wanted to chip in my two cents on this topic. In my experience, crepe is quite different from cotton. While cotton is a soft and breathable material, crepe has a more textured and slightly heavier feel to it.
Crepe also tends to be more structured, which can be great for dresses or blouses that you want to have a bit more shape to. However, I find that due to its weight and texture, crepe can sometimes be less comfortable to wear all day compared to lightweight cotton fabrics.
So, I think it really depends on what you're looking for in a dress! If you're looking for something that drapes nicely and is comfortable to wear, cotton might be a better choice. But if you're looking for something with a bit more structure and a refined feel, then crepe might be the way to go.
