Hi everyone,
I have recently transitioned to a vegan lifestyle and have been trying to avoid all animal products. However, I have been struggling with what to do with my leather items such as shoes, jackets and belts. I do not want to contribute to animal cruelty, but at the same time, I do not want to waste my current leather items.
I am wondering if it is ethical for me to wear these items and how other vegans handle the situation. I have heard varying opinions on the matter and would love to hear from fellow vegans on their thoughts and experiences.
Thank you in advance for your insights!

Hello everyone,
As a fellow vegan, I understand your dilemma and thought I would chime in with my personal experience. I used to own a lot of leather products such as shoes, boots, belts, jackets, and purses before going vegan. Initially, I was not sure what to do with them as throwing them away felt wasteful.
However, as I learned more about the conditions of animals in the leather industry, I made a choice to transition to vegan alternatives. It was not easy as it required a considerable effort and investment, but it was truly worth it in the end. I was able to find durable and stylish vegan leather products that are ethically made and free from animal harm.
In my opinion, wearing leather as a vegan is not ethical as it promotes and supports the leather industry, which is harmful to animals. Instead, I suggest donating or selling your leather items and investing in quality vegan products. There are plenty of vegan brands that have fashionable and high-quality products in all price ranges.
Always remember that the choice to go vegan is a personal one, and transitioning to cruelty-free products takes time. Be kind to yourself and take it one step at a time. Everything counts, no matter how big or small.
